Job Summary

In this entry-level role, MWM is looking for a bright and motivated Human Resources Assistant who will support the HR Team. This position will assist with benefits administration, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) coordination, and some recruiting coordination. In addition, this role will be responsible for receptionist duties, as well as some office administration. The ideal candidate for this position will have great customer service skills, interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources and willingness to learn and grow with us!

Responsibilities

  1. Answers telephones and directs the caller to the appropriate employee. Will transfer a caller to an associate’s voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
  2. Greets and directs visitors to the company.
  3. Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel as needed.
  4. Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
  5. Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  6. Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies as needed.
  7. Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
  8. Assists with recruiting and onboarding processes.
  9. Assists with benefits administration, open enrollment, and event planning.
  10. Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
  11. Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  12. Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  13. Special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Work Ethic: Reliable, proactive and dependable work ethic, including following written or verbal instructions.
  4. Education: Undergraduate degree OR General Education Degree (GED), proficiency in specific skills preferred. Bachelor's degree a plus but not required, preferably in Human Resources.
  5. Values: Generate a culture that fosters continual improvement throughout the assigned site(s).
  6. Communication: Strong, pro-active written and verbal communicator to customers, clients and coworkers, using MWM’s values of Accountability, Respectfulness, Coachability and Honesty
  7. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

The on-going growth and dynamic nature of MWM may require this job description to change. Changes in the job description will be at the sole discretion of management. This description is intended as an outline of the principal duties of the position; other duties may be assigned to further the interest of Miller Welding & Machine Company.
